Asteroid hyalosis or snow hyalosis, a harmless condition, is where there are a large number of particles or floaters suspended in the vitreous gel of the eye. These particles can consist of calcium or other precipitates that have settled out in the vitreous due to aging or can be a result of vitreous degeneration following an inflammatory condition. | |
