This contrast enhanced sagittal (from the side) MRI view through the facial region and frontal lobes shows a large mass in the sinonasal region growing superiorally into the inferior frontal region of the brain. This type of tumour- is an olfactory neuroblastoma also called an esthesioneuroblastoma. It arises from the neuroepithelium of the olfactory cells within the upper nasal cavity. Thus it generally begins in the upper nasal cavity and with continued growth it can extending intracranially into the inferior frontal lobe compressing and displacing the frontal lobes superiorally
