This colour-enhanced,sagital (from the side),non-contrast,T1-weighted MR image demonstrates the typical location and appearance of the vascular juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA). There is a mass in the nasal cavity (yellow density) growing posteriorly into the sphenoid sinus. There is associated bone destruction. These most commonly occur in adolescent males who present with nasal stuffiness and epistaxis (nose bleeds). While these masses are histologically benign,they appear locally invasive,with infiltration of skull base foramina and,at times,growth into the intracranial compartment
