Allergic conjunctivitis. Inflamed eyelids of a patient with periodic allergic conjunctivitis caused by Angelucci's syndrome. The conjunctiva,the membrane that lines the inside of the eyelid and covers the outer layer of the eyeball,has become red and swollen. Angelucci's syndrome is a condition of hyperexcitability,tachycardia,vasomotor disturbances and conjunctivitis that mainly occurs during the spring (known as vernal conjunctivitis).
