Electronic eyeball camera. Photograph of a camera sensor designed to mimic the structure of the human eye. It features a small adjustable, liquid filled lens and a curved photodetector surface which is similar in principle to a human lens and retina. The device is enclosed within a transparent plastic hemisphere. Future eyeball cameras could be used as sharp,wide-angle yet zoomable night vision cameras or as medical endoscopes.
