| MODEL RELEASED. Human eye,close-up infrared image. This is the right-hand eye of a 21-year-old man,with raised eyebrow and distended pupil. The latter indicates that the image was obtained in the dark or in dim lighting. Infrared light can be used to see in the dark. It can also be used to visualize subcutaneous structures (those below the surface of the skin) that are not visible in normal lighting. These structures include superficial veins (one at centre left). Other applications of infrared imaging include recording the ocular surface temperature (OST),and tracking eye movements | |
