Illustration of two species of giraffe, the forest giraffe (Okapia johnstoni) and the reticulated giraffe (Giraffa reticulata). The okapi stands about 1.5 metres tall at the shoulder. Its coat is a chocolate to reddish brown, in great contrast with the white horizontal stripes and rings on the legs. The reticulated giraffe stands at around 5 metres tall. It is differentiated from other types of giraffes by its coat, which consists of large block-like spots which show much less white between them than other giraffe species. | |
