Marble statue of Dionysus (2nd AD) The God of wine is depicted upright and naked. His head is crowned with ivy and a fillet and his hair is arranged in an elaborate hairstyle. His left arm rests on a tree trunk, around which winds a vine. In his right hand he was probably holding a cantharus (drinking cup). Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum. | |
