Syndactyly on the foot of a 8 year old male patient, where toes are overlapping. Syndactyly means 'joined digits' and may range in severity, from slight webbing of the skin to fusion of the underlying bones. It occurs when happens when two or more toes fail to completely separate during development. Sometimes syndactyly occurs by chance or it is inherited. Treatment is with surgery to separate toes. | |
