Full moon and Belt of Venus over the west end of the Great Wall of China. The Belt of Venus is an atmospheric phenomenon visible shortly before sunrise or after sunset. It appears as a pink glow above a dark purple-gray patch. The dark patch is caused by the shadow that Earth casts onto the sky as the sun rises or sets. Photographed on 19 May 2019 in Jiayuguan pass, Gansu, China. | |
