The image shows numerous lymphocytes and plasma cells in the endometrial stroma surrounding the glands. Chronic endometritis may occur following pregnancy or abortion or may be associated with an intrauterine device, uterine fibroids (leiomyoma), pelvic inflammatory disease or cervicitis. Chronic endometritis is an important cause of infertility. | |
