Atypical polypoid adenomyoma, light micrograph. Atypical polypoid adenomyoma is a type of endometrial polyp which contains smooth muscle fibres as well as a glandular component that shows varying degrees of hyperplasia and atypia. The smooth muscle is an integral part of the tumour. The degree of endometrial hyperplasia and atypia is variable and sometimes approaches the appearance of low-grade endometrial carcinoma. | |
