Fissure on Mauna Loa, Hawaii, USA, on the 10th December 2022. On the 27th November 2022, the volcano began erupting for the first time since 1984. The eruption created several fissures, with fissure 3 (shown here) being the dominant fissure. The flow of lava in fissure 3 measured more than 10 kilometres and moved north, cutting off the main road to the Mauna Loa Observatory. | |
