Warts resolving on the sole of a patient's foot after treatment with the drug cimetidine and cryotherapy. Warts are caused by infection with a human papilloma virus (HPV). It leads to mass production of skin in a localised area, producing the characteristic appearance of a wart. Cryotherapy uses liquid nitrogen to kill and freeze the wart. Cimetidine is a drug that stimulates the immune system, helping it to clear the infection. | |
