Light micrograph of sebaceous cells, which are the cells making up sebaceous glands in normal skin. The cells have numerous vacuoles (the many clear small 'bubbles') which contain the sebaceous substance that is secreted by the glands. The dark blue round circular or ovoid structures are the nuclei of the cells, and the cytoplasmic membranes are the distinct dark pink lines outlining each of the cells. Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10cm. | |
