Oral thrush in a patient with dentures. This is candidiasis, an infection caused by the fungus Candida albicans. C. albicans is normally harmless, but the use of antibiotics or a suppressed immune system can lead to infection. This case is a complication of diabetes. Treatment is with antifungal drugs. | |
