Swollen leg of a white male patient with a Baker's, or popliteal, cyst, a fluid-filled lump behind the knee. It is caused by the build-up of pressure within the knee joint and is often a complication of a disorder such as rheumatoid arthritis. The cyst can rupture, causing great pain. Treatment is with drainage of the fluid and anti-inflammatory drugs. | |
