Granuloma annulare lesions. This is a harmless, but chronic (long-term) condition of unknown cause. It consists of a rash with reddish bumps arranged in a ring or circle. It is usually asymptomatic, but may itch. This is a rarer generalised, or disseminated, case where the rash is widespread over the body. It is mostly found in otherwise healthy people, although it may be associated with diabetes in adults. The rash disappears on its own within a couple of years, but may recur. It can be treated for cosmetic reasons with steroid creams or injections. If the rash is widespread, ultraviolet light therapy can be used. | |
