The upper section of an American Gemini Titan rocket outside the Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas, USA. The Titan ICBM was repurposed to launch Gemini astronauts into Earth orbit in the 1960s. A mock-up of the Gemini capsule (black) and adapter assembly (white) can be seen on top of the second stage. Now known simply as Cosmosphere, the space museum and education centre was developed from a planetarium established on the site in 1962. | |
