Calcium concretions in human pineal gland, light micrograph. With age, the pineal gland shows a progressive increase in calcium deposits in the form of calcium concretions. The image shows several small calcium concretions and two larger ones in which the typical morular contour is evident. Outside the gland, the pineal capsule also shows concretions with concentric layers. | |
