Partial reconstruction of the eroded bank of a stream using coir roll revetments which provide rapid establishment of marginal vegetation. Once the coir rolls are in place topsoil is used to level the site. The coir material is an organic product of natural coconut fibre which acts as a growing medium. The rolls can be planted with native flora and fauna which bring together, biological, ecological and engineering aspects to stabilise and vegetate the eroded bank. | |
