Aprille Ericsson-Jackson (born 1963), American aerospace engineer. Ericsson-Jackson received a bachelors in aeronautical/astronautical engineering from MIT in 1986 and a masters in engineering from Howard University, Washington DC, in 1992. In 1995 she received her PhD in mechanical engineering from Howard University, the first African-American woman to do so. After graduating Ericsson-Jackson went to NASA Goddard Flight Center to work as an aerospace engineer. She has remained at NASA, working on satellite missions, spaceflight instruments design and as a technologist. Photographed at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Maryland, USA, in 2016. | |
