Composite image of the double star cluster NGC 1850, located about 160, 000 light years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The red filaments around the cluster are clouds of hydrogen, thought to be from supernova explosions. NGC 1850 cluster contains a black hole elevent times larger than the Sun and a five-solar-mass star orbiting it. This image uses visible light data from the Hubble Space Telescope and the Very Large Telescope. | |
