Gas diffusion, 2 of 3. An empty inverted Erlenmeyer flask is placed on top of another Erlenmeyer flask initially filled with nitrogen dioxide (NO2) gas (Photo 1). After 17 min the gas is seen diffusing into the upper flask (Photo 2). After a total of about 1 hour the gas uniformly fills the whole volume constrained by the two flasks (Photo 3). | |
