Rock Rochette (centre, grey) after sampling by the Perseverance rover. Two core samples, known as Montdenier (left side hole) and Montagnac (right side hole), were obtained by the rover from the rock on 1st September and 7th September 2021 respectively. Also seen to the right of Rochette's surface is an area abraded by Perserverance using a tool on its robotic arm. This abrasion patch is nicknamed Bellegarde. | |
