Ralstonite is a complex mineral with chemical formula Na0.5(Al, Mg)2(F, OH)6·H2O. It is an alteration product of cryolite, usually colourless. In this specimen it occurs as tiny octahedral crystals on a leached out crystalline framework as found in cryolite deposits near Ivigtut, southwestern Greenland. Width of sample is 70 mm. | |
