Microcline (KAlSi3O8) is a potassium-rich (sodium-poor) alkali feldspar, an important constituent of igneous rocks such as granites and pegmatites. Microcline may be clear, white, pale-yellow, brick red, or green, such as this specimen. The green variety is also known as Amazonite or Amazon stone.
