Training for the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) servicing mission. The VR system is being used for the first time in astronaut training to simulate the capture and repair of the orbiting HST. The astronaut uses the Virtual Reality system to practise grappling the HST and securing it in place during the capture. Mission STS-61 is scheduled for launch in late 1993. | |
