Martian seismic event recorded by NASA's InSight lander on 6 April 2019, the 128th sol (Martian day) of its mission. The spacecraft has a seismometer, called the Seismic Experiment for Interior Structure (SEIS), to measures ground vibrations. The seismometer also recorded the sound of Martian wind and the robotic arm of the spacecraft. The InSight lander is designed to study the interior of Mars. It will investigate the processes that formed and shaped Mars and its findings will improve our understanding of the evolution of the inner solar system's rocky planets. | |
