Endoscope view of a gastric ulcer (white) in a 52 year old woman's stomach. Gastric, or peptic, ulcers are erosions of the mucosal lining of the stomach. This ulcer was found after the patient had previously undergone a partial gastrectomy (removal of the stomach) with a Roux en Y procedure to treat ulceration of the stomach. Symptoms of a stomach ulcer include abdominal pain, vomiting blood and bloody stools. | |
