Tourmaline is a boron-silicate mineral occurring in a number of crystalline varieties (schorl, dravite) in igneous rocks. Well known and much sought after for jewellery are the clear crystalline varieties that occur in different colours. In this sample several slender prismatic crystals in moss-green colours are intergrown with a pointed quartz prism. Tip to tip length of quartz crystal is 95 mm. | |
