Golden selenite is a recently uncovered variety of selenite, distinguished by its amber-golden hues and well-developed crystal habitat. Selenite overall is a variety of gypsum (CaSO4·2H2O), commonly satin white to colourless, its habitat ranging from well-developed crystals to a fibrous make-up. Sample is from the Salinas de Otuma salt mines near Pisco, Peru. | |
