Infected wound on the leg of a male patient three weeks after femoral-tibial bypass surgery to treat peripheral vascular disease (PVD). PVD symptoms result from inadequate blood flow through the blood vessels of peripheral limbs (usually the leg). Part of the great saphenous vein, which runs the length of the leg, was harvested to bypass the affected artery. | |
