An adult male Hoary bat (Lasiurus cinereus), on a pine branch in Wisconsin. These bats are long-distance migrators, sometimes traveling as far as from Canada to the southern United States or northern Mexico to overwinter. They are especially vulnerable to being killed by wind turbines during their travels. | |
