Pityriasis rosea rash on the back of a 27 year old male patient. This skin disorder is thought to be viral in origin. It starts with a single 'herald' patch that is followed, around 1-2 weeks later by a generalized outbreak of mildly to severely itchy patches. Local use of steroids and oral use of antihistamines can give relief from itching until the rash heals. | |
