Pyogenic granuloma on a male patient's back. A pyogenic granuloma is neither pyogenic (producing pus) nor a granuloma (inflammed cells). It is a harmless overgrowth of tiny blood vessels, which often appears after minor injury and is prone to bleeding. The growth will normally disappear without treatment but can be removed by electrocautery, cryosurgery or more conventional surgery. | |
