| Cannabis plant. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the surface of a cannabis (Cannabis sativa) plant. The pointed hairs are called lithocyst cells. They contain cystoliths (calcium carbonate crystals). Glandular cells called trichomes are also present. These are capitate trichomes that have stalks.
