Sasanian inscription, 6th century. Found in Nippur in Mesopotamia (now Iraq), this inscription is on a fragment of pottery known as an ostracon. The language is Aramaic, and it dates from the 6th century during the Sasanian (Neo-Persian) period when the region was ruled from what is now Iran. | |
