A representation of Iron Age warriors at the period of transition from the bronze to the iron epoch. The personal ornaments of the horseman and foot soldiers are based on those found at the Hallstatt necropolis in the Alpine region which is dated between the 12th and 6th centuries BC. All the objects are of bronze or iron, though iron predominates all the weapons, particularly swords, spears and daggers. The Gallic style helmets are of bronze, the sword belts are plates of bronze embellished with ornamentation. Bronze bracelets encircle the forearms and there is a necklace with pendants. The horse harness is embellished with a circular boss. | |
