Frontal section of the fossil remains of Steneosaurus, an extinct genus of crocodilians that inhabited shallow seas from the Early to Middle Jurassic period. The skull is very light and slender, the jaws have many sharp teeth, undoubtedly apt for preying on small fish. They measured between 2.5 and 5 meters in length. Fossils have been found in Jurassic sediments all over Western Europe as well as Northern Africa. | |
