Ginkgo huttonii is an extinct species in the family Ginkgoaceae. Today this group of trees is represented by just one surviving species, Ginkgo biloba, the Maidenhair tree. It probably barely survived extinction thanks to cultivation in far-east gardening practice. Provenance of fossil is from Middle Jurassic sandstone beds in northern England. | |
