Robert Stephenson statue. British railway engineer Robert Stephenson (1803-1859), the son of George Stephenson, was one of the greatest engineers of the 19th century. In 1833 he was appointed chief engineer of the London and Birmingham Railway. This statue was originally installed in 1871 in the Great Hall of Euston railway station, London, UK. It was later moved, first to Euston Square, and since 1968 has been in the station forecourt. The bronze statue was created by Baron Carlo Marochetti. Photographed in 2018. | |
