Anatomy of the superficial veins of the left upper limb. On the left in the arm the cephalic vein passes deep to the deltoid muscle of the shoulder. The basilic vein is medial and becomes deeper in the arm. On the right in the forearm the median cubital vein in the cubital fossa (elbow depression) unites the cephalic and basilic veins.
