Herve Mangon (1821-1888), French engineer and politician. As an engineer, Mangon taught at the National School of Bridges and Roads. He also carried out meteorological research. As a politician, he served as Minister of Agriculture in 1885. He was elected to the French Academy of Sciences in 1872, and became a vice-president of the Academy in 1887. He was made a Commander of the Legion of Honour. Artwork published in 1888. | |
