Reflection nebula M78. Composite image of the Messier 78 nebula (M78, or NGC 2068). M78 is around 4 light years across, and is one of the brightest reflection nebulae in the night sky. It is located in the constellation of Orion, some 1600 light years from Earth. Imaged with data from multiple sources, including the 8.2 Metre Subaru Telescope (NAOJ), European Southern Observatory (ESO) and Chilean Advanced Robotic Telescope (CHART 32). | |
