The interior of the so-called beanie cap, a conical attachment on the end of the gaseous oxygen arm at the Space Shuttle launch pad used to vent oxygen vapour from the nose of the external tank prior to launch. The two vent apertures can be seen as black squares. This item is on display at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex in Florida, USA, with a projector and mirror mounted inside to project an image on the floor beneath the beanie cap. | |
