MODEL RELEASED. Leg wound treatment following a fall. Wound being packed with gauze following debridement of a haematoma (internal bleeding) in a large wound on the lower leg (calf) of an 82-year-old man after a fall at home. The haematoma (which has been cleaned up and removed) was where blood had clotted after internal bleeding from broken blood vessels. The injury occurred after a fall through a loft ceiling while doing home improvements (DIY). For a series of images showing this wound, followed by it being cleaned and treated (debrided) and after partial healing, see images C047/3009 to C047/3015. Photographed one week after the accident.
