Supernova remnant G70.5+1.9, optical image. This supernova remnant (SNR) is located near the edge of the giant HII emission nebula Sharpless 100 (Sh2-100). The predominant red colour is due to hydrogen alpha emissions. This supernova remnant is located in the constellation of Cygnus. This image was obtained with the wide-field view of the mosaic camera on the Mayall 4-meter telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. | |
