Exoplanet Kepler 62f, illustration. This exoplanet was discovered by the NASA Kepler spacecraft. It orbits the Kepler-69 star within the habitable zone which is the range of distance from a star where the surface temperature of an orbiting planet might be suitable for liquid water. It is estimated to be 40 percent larger than Earth which falls into the class of so-called super-Earths. Kepler-62 is cooler and smaller than the Sun in the constellation Lyra, 1, 200 light years from Earth. | |
