1900 New Orleans car under construction, (c1900?). These cars were produced in a small 'factory' in Twickenham between 1900 and 1910. They were basically Belgian Vivinus cars assembled under licence in Britain. The car first appeared at the 1900 Birmingham Cycle and Motor Show. Rolls & Company became the London agents for the cars in 1905 through the Orleans Motor Company (the New having been dropped to avoid any perceived links with America). Charles Rolls drove some of the vehicles in competitions. | |
